We serve British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. Select a province on the map to see the main due dates for individuals and businesses. Federal dates apply everywhere; provincial items are highlighted.
Click a highlighted province or use the buttons above. Provinces shown in grey are not currently served.
General guidance only. When a due date falls on a weekend or holiday it moves to the next business day. Provincial rules and registry dates can change, so confirm before filing. Map outlines: svg-maps, CC BY 4.0.
FAQ
Common questions
What do you need from me to start?
Bank and credit card statements and your CRA business number. If you have been operating, we also need last year's tax return and financial statements. For a new company, send your incorporation documents instead, plus payroll and GST/HST account details where relevant. We use ready-made templates matched to your size and engagement, so the checklist we send after the first call covers only what applies to you.
My books are behind. Can you catch them up?
In most cases, yes. We rebuild the missing months from your statements, reconcile them, and then work through your overdue filings in order of urgency. How long this takes depends on the condition of your records, and any penalties or interest are determined by the CRA.
How do we work together?
We work by phone, video call and email. We agree a secure way to share documents when we begin, so please do not email bank statements, tax slips or identity documents. We are also happy to meet in person where your situation calls for it. We serve clients in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.
How does billing work?
Bookkeeping plans are billed quarterly while the work is done monthly. Fees are subject to applicable sales tax, which depends on registration status and where you are located. For example, HST applies to Ontario clients. One-time jobs are quoted before we begin.
Can you talk to the CRA for me?
Yes. Once you authorize us as your representative, we can view your accounts and respond to the CRA directly.
Can I switch from my current accountant? How does handover work?
Yes. With your written consent, we request your prior-year returns, financial statements and working papers from your current accountant, and set up CRA representative access once you authorize us. We review everything before taking over to avoid gaps or duplicate filings. You can stay with your current accountant until we confirm that we are ready.
Do you handle payroll and T4s?
Yes. Payroll processing is included in every plan, with the number of payrolls depending on the plan. Plans B and C also include CRA remittance calculations and T4 submissions. On Plan A you calculate your own remittances. On every plan you make the payments to the CRA yourself, with our guidance, as we do not handle client funds. Payrolls beyond the plan limit are charged per payroll. See pricing for details.
How long does onboarding take?
Usually a few days to a week from the time we receive your documents. After the first call you receive your checklist and instructions for sharing documents securely. We then set up your books, confirm the monthly schedule with you, and begin. Missing or incomplete records can add time.
